+++ Applications possible from January 2021 +++
For the sixth time, kunsthalle messmer is offering the André Evard Prize for concrete-constructive art. This prize is dedicated to the Swiss artist André Evard (1876-1972). From 1913, Evard’s painting was concerned with geometric abstractions. He is thus one of the first non-figurative artists in Europe and one of the pioneers of Swiss constructive-geometric painting. The André Evard Prize is aimed at all those contemporary artists who have also committed themselves to constructive-concrete art. The prize is endowed with a total of 10.000,- € and is divided as follows :
1st place: 5.000,-€
2nd place: : 3.000,-€ Third place: 2.000,-€
Audience Award: 1.000,-€
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Any artist can submit one work. Works of art created after 1 January 2018 are eligible. The two-dimensional works may not be larger than 140 x 140 x 15 cm . Three-dimensional works (e.g. sculptures) must not exceed a height of 250 cm and a weight of
The preselection is done by viewing the digital material via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The email must have the following contents:
– WORKING DATA (in the following order:
name of the artist, title, date, technique / material, format, exhibition certificate if applicable)
– CURRICULUM Vitae with photo
– WORK DESCRIPTION (approx. ¼ page)
– HIGH RESOLUTION PHOTOGRAPHIES (up to three color photographs of the object as jpg file – each in 300 dpi and 72 dpi)
The deadline for applications is 30 June 2021. Submissions received after this date cannot be considered. The preselection will take place until September 30th, 2021. The nominated artists will be announced on the homepage of kunsthalle messmer and informed personally. The delivery of the works of art is to take place until October 20, 2021.
Transport: The costs of delivery and return transport shall be covered by the exhibition participants.
Insurance: The exhibition participants are responsible for insuring their works during delivery and return transport. During the exhibition in the Kunsthalle, kunsthalle messmer will take over the insurance.
The legal recourse for tender and awarding of prizes is excluded.
