Gerd Grimm is a German graphic artist and fashion draughtsman, who is known above all for his fashion drawings.

born 1911 in Karlsruhe, died1998 in Freiburg
1929-1931 Visit to the Badische Landeskunstschule, Karlsruhe
1931-1932 Nuremberg School of Arts and Crafts
ab 1932 Master student at the United State Schools for Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin
1936-1939 works temporarily in France and England
1940-1941 Conscription for military service
1946 Marries the fashion designer Hildegarde van Gülick. Receives orders for advertising and illustration.
1950-1951 a long stay in New York. Illustrations for New York Journals
1951 settles down in Freiburg on his return
50s fashion illustration. Book covers for Fischer Verlag and Bürgers Taschenbücher
1959-1982 Concept and illustration of the advertising campaign for the cigarette brand Reval
1961 the first of numerous Faller calendars. The motifs are mostly young women who gain great popularity as “Grimms Girls”..
1972 the last major series of fashion drawings on the subject of skiwear is created
nach 1970 focuses more and more on the depiction of young models in fashionable but everyday clothing. The drawings are used for the Reval campaign and for the Faller calendars.
