The Swiss painter, graphic artist, sculptor Leo Leuppi was a representative of the Zurich School of Concrete Art. He is also known as the founder of the artist associations Groupe Suisse Abstraction and Surrealisme and Allianz. He is one of the most important pioneers of modern art in Switzerland. In his work he combined undogmatically constructive style principles with surrealistic moments. Towards the end of the First World War, he came into contact with the Zurich Dada movement and made friends with Jean Arp, among others.
